SilverTape™ is AFTC® Group’s registered trademark and is AFTC® Group’s core product. SilverTapes are double sided viscoelastic 100% acrylic Foam tapes (AFT) . Because SilverTapes are 100% solid acrylic adhesive, they are extremely durable providing outstanding age and weather resistance. This makes SilverTape™ the perfect match for the bonding of many different materials such as aluminium, steel, plastics and glass. But also low surface energy materials like ASA, ABS, PP/PE EPDM, POM and many more.
The viscoelastic property of SilverTape™ ensures a constant fluent state. This fluency means the tape flows into all pores of the material and ‘locks’ itself in the material for an unmatched bond. Besides that, in addition when under pressure, the tape sees its strength from its elasticity, and the viscosity also ensures a low internal tension. Because of these properties, SilverTape™, in contrast to foam (PE, PU, polyester etc.) backed tape has the ability to withstand much higher static and dynamic forces. In addition, the elasticity ensure the tape to will return to its original position once the tension is relieved. With all this, our customers can take their designs to the next level.
SilverTape™ is produced in roughly 75 different types. Varying in thickness between 0,1mm and 3mm and available in gray, black, white and transparent, our standard products will offer you the bonding solution you are looking for. Even Low Surface Energy (LSE) materials such as silicones, Teflon, PP/EPDM, ceramic and other (powder)coatings are now, with the introduction of the SilverTape 64-Series, substrates suitable for our SilverTape™.

Heat Activated SilverTape™:
Due to cost reduction, the automotive industry started exploring material savings in every direction. Weather seals used to be pressed onto an aluminium rail on the bodywork and doors of the car. Nowadays, these rails have disappeared and have been replaced by heat activated tapes. The weather seals are now directly bonded to the doors and bodywork. AFTC® has closely followed this development and has simultaneously developed, based on different paint and clear coats, four different grades of heat activated tapes.
These four different grades (available in different thicknesses) are all based on our widely approved automotive SilverTapes. This means you will get all characteristics of an acrylic foam tape on one side combined with the hotmelt bond to your EPDM profile on the other.
